Camposol launches Origen, its genetic improvement program with a global vision, at Fruit Logistica 2026
Berlin, February 2026 – Camposol, a global leader in Peruvian agribusiness, officially launched ORIGEN, its new Genetic Improvement Program, at Fruit Logistica 2026 in Berlin. This initiative marks a milestone in the company's evolution and opens a new chapter in its history, integrating nearly three decades of agricultural experience with advanced science and technology as part of a strategic and investment plan focused on long-term growth.
Conceived from its inception with a global vision, ORIGEN is a varietal innovation program designed to address the main challenges of the sector: productivity, consistent quality and adaptation to the most demanding markets in the world.
“ORIGEN did not arise from improvisation. It is the result of more than a decade of research and learning focused specifically on the development of our genetic program, and it is a central piece of our long-term strategy to build, from genetics, a stable and consistent supply model from a single origin,” said Ricardo Naranjo, CEO of Camposol.
Naranjo added that the program addresses genetics from a responsible and long-term perspective, working from the ground up, enhancing natural processes to arrive at more precise, consistent solutions aligned with the real needs of the market.
Inspiration and value proposition
The name ORIGEN integrates the concept of beginning and the word gene, reflecting the essence of the program: developing advanced genetics focused on attributes that generate value throughout the chain —flavor, firmness, consistency, visual quality and productive performance— aligned with the expectations of producers, clients and consumers globally.
ORIGEN envisions the development of varieties with high agronomic performance and commercial appeal, conceived from their origin with a clear long-term vision.
First generation: Sol One and Maia Blue
As part of the launch, Camposol presented the first generation of varieties developed under ORIGEN.
Sol One stands out for its high performance, firmness and consistency, providing productive stability and excellent visual quality.
Maia Blue, for its part, is characterized by its attractive appearance, natural shine and soft texture, reflecting a precise and balanced genetics for the most demanding markets.
“These varieties have been developed by focusing on the attributes that truly generate value in the most demanding markets, such as flavor, firmness, consistency, and productive performance… Each new variety will have its own identity, essence, and name, because behind each one there is science, work, and a vision for the future that defines our ORIGIN,” explained Federico Maggio, Manager of the Blueberry Business Unit at Camposol.

Scaling and investments: towards a single-origin model from Peru
ORIGEN is part of Camposol's strategic and investment plan. In 2025, the company inaugurated Invitrolab, its biofactory in Chao, Peru, with the capacity to produce more than five million plants per year. This infrastructure supports a replacement and growth plan that includes planting more than 800 hectares in 2026 and a progressive rollout over the next five years through additional replacement and expansion investments.
“This approach allows us to consolidate a unique business model, originating from Peru, with a stable and consistent supply throughout the year, taking advantage of the competitive advantages of the Peruvian Coastal Valley along with the attributes provided by the ORIGEN program,” added Ricardo Naranjo.
The presentation of ORIGEN at Fruit Logistica is part of Camposol's internationalization and global positioning strategy, as well as its contribution to the development and projection of the Peruvian agricultural export sector.
The launch of ORIGEN is the result of the collaborative work and long-term vision of the Camposol teams, and reinforces the company's commitment to innovation, sustainability and responsible agricultural development.
