Miguel Cordano, general manager of Sierra Exportadora, Peru: "We are an important ally in facilitating your investments"

MiguelMiguel Cordano, general manager of Sierra Exportadora, in his presentation held at the Second International Seminar of Blueberries Consulting - AGQ Labs, which took place last June 18 in Lima, Peru, announced the policy and strategic objectives of his organization in the field of the promotion of cranberry cultivation in Peru and the possibilities for those interested in investing in that country.

Mainly he assured that the focus is on small producers with plans and projects focused on obtaining financing and training.

"We are not producers, we interact with buyers… ”Says Cordano, and explains that Sierra Exportadora today can provide access to financing to small producers in different ways, and exemplifies that there are up to one billion soles that can be managed through municipalities.

The objective is that small producers can associate and through this associativity have a common buyer, so when selling a product in this way they benefit projects, no longer one or two hectares, but ten or twenty, through this form of shared social responsibility, assured Cordano.

"Happily, in Peru, we are already looking like what CORFO is, in Chile ", assures, and adds: "If you were investors interested in areas like blueberries, we have eight areas that we can identify areas and we can have a level of 350 hectares currently available, on a blueberry map.".

In this perspective, he explained that the fact that more people participate in the blueberry cultivation process also represents a development of the national economy, because the more people are associated in the productive process of new products, the better it is for the country, since it diversifies the supply and increases the supply of labor for internal labor, and in this line, Sierra Exportadora is concerned with guiding and facilitating access to financing for those who individually could not obtain it, because they do not have support or economic solvency in front of traditional financial institutions.

Along with the above, he emphasizes his interest in these initiatives being developed in the Peruvian highlands because the area has climatic advantages and human resources that make it distinctive compared to other areas of Peru.

"We want the generation of employment to occur more easily in the Sierra, and meet project requirements that are very accessible from all that is the Andes, in which labor rates are much better, because to be clear about the aspect of the locations and be clear about the human resource aspect is the permanent task and continues our".

Miguel Cordano presents in his presentation to the three hundred attendees of the Second International Seminar Blueberries Consulting - AGQ Labs, the different projects and departments of his organization aimed at promoting the production of new products, among which is preferentially the cultivation of the cranberry.

"We have initiatives that show, for any investor, the concrete realities of how are the photos of each crop, information of where the reservoirs are, where is the irrigation, where are the possibilities of suppliers… ”, He relates by way of invitation to those attending the seminar and emphasizes the will of Sierra Exportadora to accompany anyone who chooses to invest and participate in productive projects.

"We are a very important ally in facilitating what your investment means, to accompany them in the investment process that you can do in each of the Andean regions"Says the general manager of Sierra Exportadora del Perú.
