Agricultural emergency in Argentina affects crops of blueberries, tomatoes, vineyards and vegetables

The Argentine national government declared the agricultural emergency in the Santa Fe, Mendoza, Tucumán and Santiago del Estero provinces because the production of different crops was affected as a result of floods, frost and hail.

He did so through resolutions 75, 76, 77 and 78 / 2019 of the Agribusiness Secretariat, published in the Official Gazette, according to a Chilealimentos.com portal publication.

For Tucumán, the emergency was established throughout the provincial territory for a period of 365 running days from the 1 of October of 2018 for the cranberry farms and for the same term from the 30 of October of 2018 for the farms of crops of chickpea, wheat and potato "scoop" consumption that have been affected by the intense rainfall between the months of October and November of 2018.

The agricultural emergency law proposes a series of tax and financial benefits, including the extension of the expiration of the payment of taxes such as earnings, presumed minimum gain, and personal property.

It also allows suspending the initiation or fiscal execution of lawsuits for collection of taxes due; and, if the forced sale of the hacienda is registered, it can deduct the 100% of the profits from profits.

For Santa Fe, the state of emergency runs from the 1 of last January and until the 31 of next December, for farms affected by excessive rainfall and temporary flooding, located in the departments La Capital, Garay, Las Colonias and San Justo and districts of the San Javier Department.

It also includes the Carlos Pellegrini, María Susana and Piedmont districts of the San Martín Department; and Aguara Grande, San Cristóbal, Las Avispas, Huanqueros, Villa Saralegui, La Lucila, Ñanducita, Colonia La Clara and Soledad of the Department San Cristóbal. To these are added Coronda and Larrechea of ​​the Department San Jerónimo; Bouquet, Montes de Oca and Tortugas of the Belgrano Department; and the 9 departments of Julio, Vera and General Obligado.

In the case of Mendoza, the emergency governs from the 1 of last January to the 31 of March of 2020 for the agricultural holdings of the Districts Costa de Araujo, El Carmen, El Plumero, Engineer Gustavo André, La Holanda, La Palmera, Paramillo and Tulumaya of the Lavalle Department. The affected crops have been industrial tomatoes, vineyards and plums.

Also for Agrelo and El Carrizal of the Department Luján de Cuyo; Cruz de Piedra, Fray Luis Beltrán, Lunlunta and San Roque of the Maipú Department; Medrano and Mundo Nuevo of the Department Junín and Medrano of the Department Rivadavia, which have been affected by storms with hail during the agricultural period 2018 / 2019.

It was also determined that the March 31 of 2020 is the end date of the productive cycle for the affected farms.

In Santiago del Estero, the emergency was issued for a period of 12 months from the 1 of January last, to the farms affected by floods that are located in all the departments Mariano Moreno, Juan Felipe Ibarra, General Taboada and Manuel Belgrano, and in the towns of Cañada Escobar, Colonia Gamara and Clodomira of the Banda Department, in the towns of La Cañada and Hurito Huasi of the Figueroa Department; and in the towns of Colonia El Simbolar, Fernández, Vilmer, Forres and Beltrán of the Robles Department.
