Chile: 6,13% grow fresh fruit exports this season compared to previous season
According to information from Expordata ASOEX, this 2018-2019 season (01-09-2018 to 21-01-2019), fresh fruit exports to different markets reach 695.218 tons, a figure that shows an increase of 6,13, 2017% at the same period of the 2018-XNUMX campaign.
ASOEX highlights that all destination markets register an increase in Chilean fruit exports. The United States leads shipments with 221.230 tons (with increases of 13,2 on the East Coast and 10% on the West Coast), followed by the Far East with a total of 211.970 tons, and an increase of 3,5% compared to to the same period of the previous campaign. Europe is the third market with 118.184 tons. and an increase of 3,6%. Canada registers 9.792 tons, and an increase of 0%, and finally is the Middle East with 98 and an increase of 1.781%.

In terms of species, cherries lead shipments with 180.718 tons, reflecting a slight decrease of -1,32%; the avocados are followed with 125.137, and a decrease of -2,02% in relation to what was exported on the same date last season.
