WECO partners with Azcaval to provide weighing and filling machines for the blueberry industry in the US and Mexico

WECO is pleased to announce that we have created a partnership with Azcaval Packaging Engineering of Seville, Spain, to provide the blueberry industry with state-of-the-art weighing and filling machines. WECO will sell and service the new weighing and filling machines with our current and expanded service team from our eight US service facilities strategically located near each berry growing region.

“WECO will provide the same level of service that our customers have come to expect,” said Eric Horner, vice president of WECO. “Our customers have been asking us for the past few seasons to provide an end-to-end sorting and packing solution, and by adding the Azcaval w/f machine, we are one step closer. WECO's engineering team will continue to innovate and develop our optical sorting lines. The service team will support our customers at every step of the process.

Azcaval is a five year old engineering and manufacturing company based in Seville, Spain. President and founder Enrique Azcarate said: “Our weigh and fill machines, along with an innovative vacuum defroster and easy-to-operate software, will provide the speed, accuracy and reliability that blueberry packers need during harvest. With the push of a button, the machine automatically adjusts to pre-programmed container sizes, minimizing changeover time. Our engineering team has gone to great lengths to provide the best weigh and fill machine available, and we will never stop innovating.”

Eric Horner said: “After meeting Enrique and discussing the opportunity and his experience with him, it was an easy decision. Enrique has the passion that one looks for when building a partnership. Azcaval already has blueberry packing experience working with our South American partner, Pack-Man LTDA. President Bernardo Moltedo and his sales team officially partnered earlier this year and introduced the next generation of the lower drop w/f machine to Chile and Peru with great success.
