More than 11 thousand tons of blueberries exported from Chile during the 51 week, historical figure for the industry

The season already has an 45% advance and has been characterized as a campaign with favorable weather conditions.

An 45% advance records the 2017 / 2018 season of Chilean blueberries, reaching close to 46 thousand tons exported to date, and registering the highest weekly dispatch in the history of the industry, when during the 51 week 11.575 tons were sent.

According to the Committee of Cranberries of Chile, the season is progressing normally, very different from what happened last season when the harvest was several weeks ahead, causing complications in the markets of destination.

During the 52 week, the last of December, according to the Crop Report delivered by the Committee, 9.600 tons were exported, and it is estimated that the next weeks shipments will remain around 9 thousand tons.

To date, the US market is still the leader for national blueberries, which has already received the 55% of shipments so far this season. It is followed by Europe with the 25% and Asia with the 16%.

Regarding organic, variable that is being monitored for the first time in the Crop Report, in the 52 week 411 tons were exported, adding 2.630 tons so far this season. This gives a current share of 6%, which should continue to increase as organic orchards from the La Araucanía regions to the south harvest.
