Trujillo, the City of Eternal Spring, once again hosted the most important event in the blueberry industry, the XXXVII International Seminar Blueberries Trujillo 2025, which brought together prominent entrepreneurs, researchers, and academics who shared their experiences in the industry.

With massive participation, the seminar was held on July 9 and 10 at the Costa del Sol Hotel in Trujillo, located in northern Peru. The seminar featured 14 speakers from Peru, Chile, and Mexico. The event is organized by Blueberries Consulting which has been holding this international seminar for ten years in Peru, being one of the destinations on the World Blueberry Tour that connects destinations such as Peru, Chile, Colombia, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Morocco.

From the beginning of the seminar, an analysis was made of the blueberry industry in Peru, as the world's leading exporter, and the challenges it faces in a growing industry affected by various factors such as climate variability, potential oversupply, the need for skilled labor, and water management.

Renowned specialists also presented their research on disease control strategies for blueberries, the importance of using phytohormones, regulators, and calcium, among other topics. Strategies for achieving firm fruit with good sizing and post-harvest performance were also discussed.

It's worth noting that addressing various aspects of the blueberry production chain was very significant for attendees, who expressed great interest in strengthening the dynamic Peruvian industry, whose goal is to maintain its global leadership through technological innovation, sustainability, and efficient production and market management.

Technical-commercial tour

Prior to the seminar, a Technical and Commercial Tour was held, where producers of various nationalities were able to learn about the work carried out in Trujillo's blueberry plantations and harvesting fields. The companies' fields were visited. Hass Peru and Danper which are among the most important Peruvian exporters, ranking in the Top 10.

Tour participants saw firsthand all the work, techniques, and technologies employed to produce a blueberry that meets international standards and has positioned itself as a favorite in the global market.

Certificate in Blueberry Production

In order to train university academic degree professionals, University of Almería, Spain and Blueberries Consulting Since March, they organized the Continuing Education Certificate in Blueberry Production, which was attended by professionals from fifteen countries. The certificate is valid for professional academic purposes, and new dates and countries for 2026 will be announced soon.
