Senasa certified 16.535 hectares of blueberries in our country during 2021

According to data from the National Agricultural Health Service (Senasa), this entity certified 16.535 hectares of blueberries in Peru in 2021, which meant an increase of 20.7% compared to the 13.699 hectares of said fruit registered the previous year.

He pointed out that the main blueberry producing regions in our country were La Libertad with 8.523 hectares (in 2020 it had 7.518 hectares); Lambayeque, 3.608 hectares (2870 ha); Ica, 1.255 hectares (762 ha); Lima, 1.236 hectares (1.172 ha); Ancash, 1.012 hectares (808 ha); Piura, 858 hectares (522 ha); Moquegua, 42 hectares (44 ha) and Cajamarca.

In terms of installed varieties of this fruit in 2021, Ventura became the main blueberry variety in Peru with 5.290 hectares (when the previous year there were 4.711 hectares), surpassing Biloxi for the first time.

Precisely Biloxi follows with 5.160 hectares (5.381 ha), Rocío 1.238 ha (860 ha), Emerald 1.033 ha (783 ha), Atlasblue 425 ha (244 ha), Sekoya pop 424 ha (55 ha), Sekoya Beauty 365 ha ( 45 ha), Stella Blue 344 ha (142 ha), Kestrel 268 ha (57 ha), others 1.983 ha (1.416 ha).

For their part, the companies with the largest areas of blueberries in 2021 were: Camposol with 2.842 hectares (2.568 ha the previous year), Agrovisión Perú 1.528 ha (1.036 ha), Hortifrut-Tal SAC 1.066 ha (730 ha), Hortifrut Perú 1.036 ha (1.093 ha), Complex Agroindustrial Beta 973 ha (866 ha), Agrícola Cerro Prieto 843 ha (668 ha), Agroberries Perú 645 ha (645 ha), Danper Trujillo 522 ha (521 ha).

In addition to Exportadora Frutícola del Sur 463 ha (309 ha), Consorcio Carsol JRM 420 ha (411 ha), HFE Berries Perú 403 ha (402 ha), Hass Perú 399 ha (263 ha), Bomarea 386 ha (169 ha), Blueberries Peru 366 ha (354 ha), Sociedad Agrícola Rapel 363 ha (50 ha), Sociedad Agrícola Drokasa 334 ha (222 ha), Agualima 309 ha (261 ha), Agrícola Santa Azul 303 ha (308 ha), Plantaciones del Sol 222 ha (145 ha), among many others.
