Peru exports an additional 156% of blueberries to the United Kingdom

The Commercial Office of Peru (OCEX) of London reported that exports of Peruvian blueberries to the United Kingdom in the first quarter of the current year totaled 3,54 million, an amount that represented a progression of + 156,6% with respect to similar period of the 2015, when the shipments totaled 1,38 million dollars.
Regarding the volume directed towards the British market, this increased an 139%, after passing 222 tons of blueberries in the period January-April of last year to 530 tons in the same months of the 2016.
In addition, according to figures projected by the consultant Kantar Worldpanel - specialist in consumer behavior analysis - the British blueberry market grew an 25% during the 2015, exceeding the 355 million dollars.
Finally, the UK companies that led the blueberry imports were Angus Soft Fruits, Direct Product Supplies, TPH and Berry Gardens.
