Massive blueberry industry meeting kicked off in Lima
A busy meeting of the Peruvian and international blueberry industry is taking place in the halls of the Lima Convention Center this 12 and 13 March, on the occasion of the realization of the XXXIV International Blueberry Seminar.
Leading industry
This is the most developed annual meeting of the fruit industry in the country, positioning Peru as the world's leading blueberry exporter, with revenues of over USD 2.000 billion for the industry and the Peruvian GDP. It also represents an important pillar of job creation in the various production areas throughout the country.
More than 1.000 attendees, including producers, entrepreneurs, investors, technicians, and those interested in blueberry cultivation in its various agronomic and commercial aspects—both Peruvian and foreign—are attending a packed program that covers the most relevant topics of interest to producers and participants in this successful export industry.

The meeting was attended by the main leaders and actors of the industry and began with a high-level panel discussion on the blueberry industry, in which the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation participated, Angel Manero Campos, together with Miguel Bentín, president of Proarándanos and gabriel amaro, president of the Association of Agricultural Producers' Guilds of Peru (AGAP), where each of them was able to expand on their vision of the sector, warn about its challenges, and project the multiple opportunities that open up for Peru in the immediate future.

“The blueberry industry has taught us Peruvians that we are capable of facing any challenge and winning,” said Minister Manero, recognizing the Peruvian blueberry industry's tremendous efforts to acquire ongoing knowledge of an unknown crop, properly utilize and apply existing technology, and effectively manage the marketing of its production worldwide.

The massive event is taking place over the next two days, and this year's edition includes topics related to cherries, a featured crop of interest for the diversification of Peruvian producers.
