Leadership and continuity

Iván Marambio was re-elected president of Frutas de Chile for three years.

The board of directors of Frutas de Chile unanimously ratified Iván Marambio's continued tenure until October 2028, reinforcing a roadmap focused on competitiveness, market expansion, and the international promotion of Chilean fruit.

The reelection sends a signal of stability to the market: buyers, importers, and retail chains will be able to project their commercial programs for the upcoming seasons with greater certainty. Consistent union governance facilitates coordination with authorities and the private sector on key issues such as health certification, logistics, and origin positioning.

The union emphasized that the new term will further strengthen the goal of maintaining Chile as a reliable, innovative, and excellent supplier in international markets, a line that—according to statements reported by the press—combines competitive development and sustainability as core principles.

Stability for the market

The board's unanimous decision continues an agenda the sector recognizes as necessary to reduce uncertainty and sustain margins in a cycle of high costs. For international demand, continued leadership translates into predictability for contracts, supply windows, and quality commitments.

In practice, this stability facilitates harvest, post-harvest, and distribution planning, reduces operational risks, and supports medium-term negotiations with retailers. The message abroad is clear: Chile maintains its value proposition based on technical compliance, traceability, and service.

Healthcare and openness as enablers

Regarding the challenges for the union's next term, it was explained that they will include strengthening the role of the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) as a pillar of health and market opening, and consolidating the international agenda in diplomatic and phytosanitary matters, with a special focus on new destinations such as Africa.

At the same time, the agenda includes expanding and diversifying destinations, which helps spread risks and capture better price windows. Management continuity favors the execution of ongoing projects and the consolidation of relationships with strategic importers.

International promotion and positioning

Public-private promotion will continue to focus on defending the distinctive attributes of Chilean fruit—safety, quality, sustainability, and traceability—in an increasingly competitive environment. Coordinated campaigns with importers and retailers reinforce the country's brand awareness, maintain price premiums, and build customer loyalty.

For the market, this translates into signs of continuity in the offering and Chile's value proposition as a source, a key element for closing annual programs and strengthening its presence in highly dynamic categories. Reelection until October 2028 provides the necessary timeframe to execute these priorities.
