Agronight Chile 2025: A well-rounded evening, marked by enthusiasm and a unique atmosphere for agricultural networking.

The event, organized by the Chilean Nursery Association, brought together more than 250 attendees, where decision-makers, opinion leaders, and innovative companies sought to lead the transformation of the agri-food sector.
Held at the Metropolitan Santiago Events Center, Agronight 2025 was much more than a meeting place, transforming itself into an international showcase for discussing the future of fruit growing from a global and collaborative perspective.
under the motto "Redefining Chilean Fruit Growing: Genetics, Markets, and Added Value", the event stood out for its transversal nature and its high-level convening, with delegations and experts from Chile, Argentina, Peru, Guatemala and El Salvador.
A novel space for business and networking
Agronight 2025 boasted a unique atmosphere and enthusiasm, enabling members of the agricultural industry to connect, forge strategic alliances, and close deals.
With a modern and dynamic setting, Agronight 2025 successfully created synergies among the innovative companies participating in the event, showcasing technologies, products, and business models geared toward the future and sustainability of agriculture, and an audience composed of strategic agricultural leaders.
Necessary conversations that define the direction of the sector
One of the highlights was the panel discussion moderated by Franco Sannazzaro, president of Viveros de Chile, where representatives such as Manuel Jose Alcaino, founder of Decofrut, Martin Silva, international table grape consultant and founding director of Uvanova, Ricardo Aguilera, producer and CEO of Trumao Cherries and Gustavo Cardemil, executive director of GCA Agricultural Consulting.
In a changing landscape of increasing uncertainty, climate challenges, and trade wars, the panel provided an opportunity to reflect on the current situation of Chile's main fruit species, assessing their supply, demand, threats, and projections to jointly identify the best investment opportunities, where Chile is most competitive.
During the panel, key topics such as varietal conversion, attracting investment, genetic innovation, opening new markets, and loss of competitiveness were addressed, reaffirming the urgent need for a value-added strategy for Chilean fruit growing.
Agronight: where agriculture meets and evolves
Agronight thus positions itself as a platform for the articulation of ideas, the exchange of experiences, and the creation of new opportunities. Its success reaffirms the need for more exclusive and relaxed spaces for connecting strategic agricultural stakeholders, where conversation transforms into collaboration and vision into action.
Rodrigo Sotomayor Cabrera, SAG's Director of Technical Management and Acting National Director on the occasion, praised the event: "SAG has always participated in supporting union activities, particularly those of the Nursery Association, which has held events of this nature for many years" (...). "There are nurseries that produce very high-quality plants. 100% of them are regulated and inspected by SAG, so that when establishing their plantations, they trust the nurseries. They are highly professionalized" (...). "The unions are also grouped into a think tank, Pensar Agro Chile, and AGV is one of the founding unions. We have a lot of dialogue with them; we greatly value the fact that farmers are working together. It's very remarkable, very positive (...). I don't know how many people are there tonight, but there are many more than last year, and as an agricultural event, it is undoubtedly the most important of the year," he indicated.
Carolyn McLean, president of the Quillota-Marga Marga Farmers Association and PERFRUTS Valparaíso, commented: “I found the format very innovative, super entertaining, and the panelists were excellent. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the latest developments and the current situation in the agricultural sector, to make contacts, and strengthen networks.”
For his part, Francisco Contardo Morandé, director of ComunicAgro and host of "Ecosistema AgriFoodTech" on La Metro FM, commented, "Today, creating connections and environments that facilitate collaboration is key. Agronight fits perfectly into this trend. It was a night of learning, conversation, and having fun with other players in the sector. I congratulate Viveros de Chile and hope to see it again soon!"
Ingrid Aranda, Manager of the Emaresa Agricultural Line and representative of STIHL in Chile, also commented on her participation: “It was very beneficial for us to participate in the event. It's always great to connect with our customers and brand enthusiasts in enjoyable and pleasant settings. The organization was excellent, and the panel of guests for the conversation was very good.”
For Francisco Astaburuaga, President of Agrotec Chile, “Agro Night was a tremendous event, with a super-powerful panel of experts, some of the most relevant I've heard this year. And honestly, it was a tremendous opportunity to talk with highly relevant people in the industry. I believe that these are the moments, these are the times when connections and ideas that truly make a difference in the industry are generated. I'm very grateful to have been able to participate in this event.”
For her part, Maritrini Lapuente, executive director of Viveros de Chile, expressed her satisfaction with the event's success: "We are extremely happy with the convening of Agronight Chile 2025. This second edition brought together the entire fruit production value chain, from nurseries and input and technology suppliers to exporters, to rethink our fruit industry, add value, and strengthen it for the future. I think there was a lot of expectation because we are actually going through extremely complex times in the fruit industry; there are many issues that are swirling around and are challenging the production and commercial results of our exports. So we are at a turning point where we need to look for answers and insights on how to improve production and profitability, starting by analyzing which species and varieties Chile can focus on with the greatest likelihood of success," she confessed.
“Being able to take advantage of the climate advantages we have, for example, the cold winter conditions versus other countries like Peru that don't have enough cold to produce species like cherries, apples... I don't know, there are many species that are dependent on low temperatures to bear fruit and produce quality fruit, and I think that's where we need to focus.”
Internationalization and projections of Agronight
Daniela Saavedra, project manager for the Nursery Association, said: “Agrotrade Latam is our brand under which we develop different types of events. We've been holding these types of events for over 10 years, mainly in Chile and Peru, and since last year we wanted to innovate with something more entertaining, a different format, within the same concept as our classic Agrotrade, but at night, more relaxed, and more social. Ultimately, this new format has allowed us to offer a much more diverse audience, with companies from different sectors joining, along with wineries and opinion leaders, to generate a more pleasant environment for connections and networking. We expected a maximum of 200 people because it's an event for decision-makers; it's not a massive event, but more than 250 people showed up, and we're delighted,” she said.
"Our next activity will be Agronight Peru, on July 17th. We're finalizing the final details to bring this unmissable event to Lima, so we invite all agricultural supplier companies to join us because, just like last year, our meeting with key players in the Chilean and Peruvian agricultural sector is promising!"
In a context of pressing challenges facing the agricultural sector, Agronight facilitated addressing these issues and finding sustainable solutions with a networking program that included business meetings, conferences, product and service presentations, great music, and cocktails.
