Berry farmers from Bío Bío will participate in a program to access technological improvements

Producers of the Bío Bío Integrated Territorial Program (PTI) will represent the area in a meeting that will bring together four regions of the country.

Under the plan that works with berry farmers in the province, the invitation was made so that they can be part of the technological consortium called Smart Fruit.

As explained by the manager of the PTI Berries in Bío Bío, Carlos Muñoz, this will give notoriety to the producers of the area, along with facilitate access to technological improvements.

The general director of the Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), Rodrigo Avilés, explained that they are in search of initiatives to solve the problems that local berry workers could present.

All this, added Aviles, to make the item one competitive and so it can be exposed to the market, around cherries, blueberries and raspberries, which are the fruits worked in the province of Bío Bío.
